MICHAEL GEDDES

President & CEO, Executive Producer

 

Launching Lone Eagle Entertainment Ltd in 1996, Geddes has built a worldwide reputation for producing highly rated, high concept television. He is a key authority on reality-based television in Canada and the recipient of the 2005 LionsGate/Maple Pictures Innovative Producer Award at the Banff World Television Festival.

Recently , Lone Eagle proudly launched its fifth season of the award winning TV series You Gotta Eat Here! for Food Network Canada. You Gotta Eat Here! won two awards at the 2014 Canadian Screen Awards: Best Lifestyle or Talk Program or Series, and Best Direction in a Lifestyle/Practical Information Program or Series.

Before You Gotta Eat Here!, Lone Eagle’s first major network success was the premiere launch of the pop music documentary Popstars, which debuted as the #1 Canadian Primetime Series in February 2001. This series was the first of its kind in Canada and nominated for Best Reality Series at the 2003 Gemini Awards.

Since then, Geddes also created and executive produced MemegURL for Slice, Too Much Information for Super ChannelTribes of the 21st Century for Discovery Civilization Channel, Carlawood and Inside the Box for TVtropolis, You Bet Your Ass on The Comedy Network, The Office TempsSupermodels, Game On, Get A Grip On Golf for Global Television, Hooked Up (nominated as ‘Best Reality Series’ at the 2004 Gemini Awards) and The Call for Life Network. In 2010, Geddes produced the highly anticipated Wipeout Canada on TVtropolis.

Geddes started in the industry at Atlantis Communications Inc. as the company’s Head of Marketing in production and distribution. He was an integral part of the senior management team involved in the 1995 launch of the cable specialty channel, Life Network. Geddes is the Vice – Chair of the Michael Garron Hospital Foundation and sits on the Advisory Board of The Banff World Media Festival.

RACHEL HORVATH

Vice President of Television Production

 

Rachel began her media career working as an editor and writer in magazine journalism. In 1998, she launched the national Canadian women’s magazine, Blonde, of which she was co-editor in chief.In 2000 Rachel made the move to television production and joined the team at Lone Eagle Entertainment. Rachel is the Senior Producer of the Canadian version of the international hit WIPEOUT (14 x 1 hour for TVtropolis); the producer of the multi-cam comedy chat show TOO MUCH INFORMATION (39 x ½ hour for Super Channel); the studio comedic clip show MEME gURL (2 x ½ hour for Slice); the series producer of multi-cam studio game show INSIDE THE BOX (2 x 65 episodes for TVtropolis); the anthology documentary series TRIBES OF THE 21ST CENTURY (3 episodes for Discovery Civilization); and 2 seasons of CARLAWOOD (documentary series for TVtropolis).

Rachel was the Associate Producer on a number of highly-rated and critically acclaimed Canadian reality series, including: POPSTARS (seasons 1, 2 and 3) for Global Television, SUPERMODELS (Global Television), HOOKED UP (Toronto 1) and THE CALL (Alliance-Atlantis); and the comedy-reality hybrid THE OFFICE TEMPS (Global Television).

Rachel is currently supervising producer of season 5 of YOU GOTTA EAT HERE! for Food Network. The show premiered in 2016.

ALLISON BROUGH

Director of Development

 

Allison is responsible for development activity at Lone Eagle (including the creation of original formats, casting talent for projects, production of pitching materials for broadcasters and assessing program proposals made to Lone Eagle).

Allison is an experienced Development Executive who has been in the industry for just under a decade. She has worked on various sizzles and piloted shows for series on such networks as: Food Network Canada, Cooking Channel, OWN, Slice, HGTV US, HGTV Canada, DIY Network and TBS.

Allison currently sits on the board at SickKids Innovators in Toronto as well as the Soho House.

Allison studied Theatre at McGill University, received her B.A in Sociology and Social Anthropology with a minor in Film and Television at Dalhousie University, and then furthered her education in Public Relations at Humber College.
