Tribes of the 21^st Century opens the door to fascinating sub-sets of modern humanity, from stand up comics to bike couriers and body builders. In each episode, we’ll meet half a dozen members of a modern tribe, learn their rituals, don their regalia, attend their pow-wows and explore their reasons for belonging.

In each episode, we’ll follow a newcomer as he or she enters the tribal circle for the first time, guided by elders, warily watched by the eyes of those who have come before. We may be born a Slovak or a Sioux, but joining a Tribe of the 21^st Century involves a transformation of the spirit and the soul, and in joining a new community, satisfies the deep human need for family.
